Klinger's Sherlock Holmes Reference Library contained the Apocrypha. Though written 28 years after "The Field Bazaar", this is almost a companion piece to that story. Adler slips away before Holmes can succeed, leaving only a photograph of herself (alone) and a note to Holmes that she will not blackmail Ormstein. Some authors have written tales centred on characters from the canon other than Holmes. Wagner, E. pp.2123.
